20th-century artworks from Cmurek
20th-century artworks from Cmurek Artworks from the legacy of the former institution in Trate.
The legacy of the former State Asylum for the Mentally and Neurologically Ill in Trate includes an extensive collection of artworks created by the residents of the institution during occupational therapy. Their varied motifs, precise techniques and selected colours adorn the west corridor of Cmurek Castle. Unfortunately, we do not know who created these works. The multitude of people who lived in the institution at Trate between 1949 and 2004 is nameless and we know very little about the individuals and their lives.
