Next week, Sonja Bezjak, Director of the Museum of Madness, will travel to Bilbao, Spain, where she will participate in the professional conference and award ceremony of the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA).

The Museum of Madness has been nominated for the award alongside 33 other museums from across Europe. To mark this occasion, the museum team—together with curator Barbara Kotnik, the many volunteers who help shape the life of the Museum of Madness, and filmmaker Jakob Vogrinec—has prepared a presentation video showcasing the museum.

Based on these principles, it supports, connects, showcases, and rewards excellence and innovation in the museum sector. The announcement of the award winners will take place on 14 June 2025 in Bilbao.
