MUR|A & NATUR|A
Preserving and Showcasing the Natural Treasures of the Mura River.
The Mura River, flowing between Šentilj and Gornja Radgona in Slovenia and Spielfeld and Bad Radkersburg in Austria, is deeply cherished by the local communities. For many, it offers a high quality of life, a peaceful place for walking, and a space to explore nature across all generations.
Yet, this unique stretch of the river has faced serious threats in the past. A key reason is that many people are still unaware of how vital a free-flowing river is—not just for the environment, but also for human well-being and all forms of life.
With this in mind, Museum of Madness and Pavel House are joining forces to offer events that bring the natural richness of the Mura closer to the public. Visitors will have the chance to discover the area's incredible biodiversity and understand why this river landscape is so special. The events will also shed light on the negative consequences of harmful interventions in the Mura’s sensitive floodplain system interventions which impact both ecological balance and the daily lives of people in the region.
Join us in celebrating, exploring, and protecting the Mura River, our shared natural heritage.
